The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter with ten members is happy to report that we have met our goals for 2002-03.
We have done a number of service projects. We collected toothbrushes from local dentists for the “Toothbrushes for Tonga” campaign. We have sent them to our PPSEAWA sisters in Tonga to distribute in local elementary schools. We have written letters to our Tibetan student sponsored through Kham Aid Foundation, 14 year old Liu Douchen who attends Xinlong Junior Middle School. All our letters were translated into Mandarin by our member, Jenny Guo, a native of Beijing, China. At our holiday party, hosted by Judith Levine, we enjoyed reading the letter from Liu Douchen.
We wrapped Christmas presents for children in need through Bay Area Crisis Nursery and gave holiday gifts to a teenage mother and baby through the “Adopt a Family” program. We have made plans for the International Conference, held officer elections for next year; and have planned programs for next year.
