The Scholarship Fund was established by PPSEAWA USA in 2002 in order to benefit one young woman each year who resides in a nation having a PPSEAWA National Organization such as: Australia, Canada, Cook Islands, Fiji, Hawaii, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Samoa, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, and the United States of America. The Scholarship Award is to help a girl to complete her last 2 years of secondary education (finish high school), so she will be able to go further if so desired. All monies allocated for the scholarship are given directly to the school she is enrolled in, not to the individual. The Guidelines for the PPSEAWA USA Scholarship Award are attached.
PPSEAWA NMOs are welcome to propose candidates for this scholarship. Candidates are expected to be recommended by their principals and will need two references to accompany the application. We understand that there are differences in the start times of academic years between countries, so it is a rolling application process - candidates can submit their applications at any time.
Application forms, as well as inquires about the scholarship award, can be requested through the PPSEAWA USA Education Scholarship chairperson, Rebeca Massey at rebecamassey [at] yahoo.com (rebecamassey[at]yahoo[dot]com).
