The sixty-fourth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW64) will not place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 9 to 20 March 2020. In light of the current concerns regarding coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Member States decided that the sixty-fourth session of the Commission will convene on 9 March for a one-day procedural meeting that will include the adoption of the draft Political Declaration and action on any other draft resolutions. The session will then suspend until further notification and the building is closed to public entry. Furthermore, all NGO CSW64 Forum events following this recommendation by the UN Secretary-General and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Therefore, it is with deep regret and concern for the safety of our members that PPSEAWA informs you that our two Side Events within the United Nations headquarters and the eight Parallel Events scheduled for the NGO Forum which runs concurrently, will not take place.
