Oceans, along with coastal and marine resources, play an essential role in human well-being and social and economic development worldwide. Trash and plastic are not just found on our landfills, but within our seas too. It is estimated they will contain more plastic than fish by the year 2050.
To raise the awareness of coastal conservation, we have organized a beach cleanup activity entitled “Save Our Ocean with PPSEAWA”. Our members walked along the shoreline, and picked up bottles, cans, microscopic plastic pellets and etc. at Zhongjiao Bay, Jinshan District, New Taipei City, in July 2020. We promoted the PPSEAWA’s ocean protection pledge, and hoped to continue our efforts to preserve the ocean. (United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14).
